Earlier this week, Ming Gullo at A View with Ming walked us through the fundamentals of shooting in color. She introduced elements like hue, saturation, and lightness, and talked about color temperature and different image formats.
For this challenge, we want to keep it simple: share a photograph with a prominent color (or assortment of colors) that reveals more about you. It could be a symbolic, meaningful shade; a color that expresses how you currently feel; or a combination of colors that excites you and tells a visual story.
You’ll see my interpretation of the challenge above: when I moved into my home, I painted these swatches on my living room wall. I love warm colors like this sunshine yellow and reddish orange, but I like balancing them with this shade of gray, which is more muted and reserved. I suppose that says a bit about my own personality and demeanor.
IN A NEW POST CREATED SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO INCLUDING THE HUE(S) OF YOU!
I look forward to seeing all the hues that make up all of you.
— Cheri

New to The Daily Post? Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.
Here’s how it works:
1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.
2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.
3. Follow The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements, and subscribe to our newsletter — we’ll highlight great photos from each month’s most popular challenge.

Hi Cheri,
I would like to know why the last couple of weeks comments already closed on wednesdays instead of fridays.
Quote from above
“post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.”
Maybe you can give me an answer, as I didn’t get one at one of the support forums.
Thanks Angela

Good one, Angela! I asked too a few weeks ago, wondering if it was a temporary thing, but it seems to be here to stay… Which means I’m always late 🙂

Not as simple as it sounds. Let me see what I can come up with for this week’s topic.

ok, so here’s my idea of this topic
The Hue of You
When I walked through the streets of a small town in France called Roussillon, I was immediately fascinated by the colors of the houses. While in Latin America one town is more colorful than the next one, sadly you don’t find much of that in Europe.
Each house had it’s very own combination of colors, so much unlike the anonymity of a big city. In this town the houses possessed a character, just like the people living inside them.

This is a really difficult challenge. I failed to find anything for saturation, so perhaps I have a harder time with the colour inspired challenges. I like the first photo best, btw. 🙂
