This week, show us something (or someone) sweet.

While I don’t have as much of a sweet tooth as my husband, I’d never turn down an opportunity to sit at a cafe to enjoy churros con chocolate: deep-fried dough, sprinkled with sugar, that you dip into a cup of thick chocolate. The pastry is typically shaped as a long, thin stick, and sometimes it’s knotted or curved, as shown in this snapshot of our table at Petritxol Xocoa, a chocolate boutique in Barri Gòtic (the Gothic Quarter) in Barcelona, Spain:

I’m embarrassed to admit how many times we returned for this treat while we were in Barcelona. I’ll just say that by the time we left the city, I was able to find this little cafe — and navigate the narrow, medieval streets of this labyrinthine neighborhood — without getting lost.

What does sweet look like to you? We look forward to your photo submissions this week!

  1. Churros reminds me of the hell fundraising event I had about 4 years ago for our homeroom’s CSR. Teachers were such a torture but there was this one evening we made churros together and it felt like everything would be alright.

  2. To me nothing is sweeter than breakfast in bed. Delicious waffles golden color, warm inside and crispy on the outside bathed in chocolate sauce goes perfectly with my morning coffee, and becomes even sweeter if I don’t make it myself but is brought up to bed from the hands of my sweet husband 😄.
