“Poor, dear, silly Spring, preparing her annual surprise!” — Wallace Stevens

Macro lenses act as a magnifier, allowing us to see dainty details in nature that otherwise go unnoticed. I recently took some macro shots of dandelions, and was delighted to find that this plant, commonly regarded as a weed, has beautifully curling stamens. I love the surprises my camera will inevitably reveal.

This week, share a surprise with us, as you see it through your lens. We’re excited to see what you share with us!

  1. Ah- Dandelions! Lovely shot…
I like surprises as much as predictability. Pleasant surprises of course 🙂
Even like the bursts of flowers I noticed a few days back; Spring was finally here.
So much to expect this weeks Photo Challenge 🙂

  2. Just today I mentioned to a friend that dandelions are really very beautiful if one looked closely. My offerings (my first in this challenge) are from today – spring offers these “makro suprises” on a platter (a green one, rather than silver).

    1. Hey there! The prompts are always published at noon Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5). As far as I know, the only thing that has changed is the day of the week (Wednesdays, rather than Fridays, now) that they’re posted. 🙂

      1. Thanks for responding!
Know I waited more than an hour last night so it was after that! And daily prompts are becoming a bit to a lot later also … did you have a time change eg daylight saving?
