For this week’s photo challenge, explore the vibrant, hopeful colors of your favorite sunrise or sunset.
Taking time to watch the sun set is one of my favorite reality checks. As the sun goes down, I get the most beautiful reminder to appreciate each and every single day. It’s an opportunity to celebrate what I’ve accomplished in the past twenty-four hours while the sky fades to night.
During a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, I had one of those moments. Standing at the San Juan National Historic Site, I watched families and friends chatting, kids laughing and flying kites, and the sun slowly setting behind the horizon. In this moment, it felt like time stopped and I was suspended in a momentary joy.

A peaceful sunset at San Juan National Historic Site.
For this week’s photo challenge, share your favorite photos of a sunrise or a sunset. If you’re an early bird, try to capture what dawn means to you. Is it a symbol of hope? A reminder to get going? Do you have any special early morning rituals that you do as the sun rises in the sky?
For night owls, share a snapshot of the day coming to an end. Show off the vibrant colors of sunset and the peaceful calm as the moon rises or any twilight rituals you may have. Get creative and show us the sun in all of her fiery glory.

Just yesterday, I was talking with my son about the sunset that can be seen from the Manga del Mar Menor in Murcia. He has been able to enjoy this wonder during a few days of rest and sports with the Spanish Athletics Federation. They are great athletes and noble people.

Love those sunrises! I was treated to an amazing sunrise when I traveled to Miami to photograph the colorful lifeguard stands on south beach. http://www.witsendphotography.com/Recent-Uploads/i-vsT7X4P

Very nice blog with beautiful pic. Few lines from my side :
It’s a lovely feeling seeing sunset and sunrise,
Beautiful thoughts in mind arise .
What we did and what are tomorrow plans ,
Either watering plants or cleaning lawns.
Peaceful places are the best for these views,
Such beauty tightens mind’s loose screws.
Thankful to God for these beautiful sites,
Much better than international flights……

My favourite sunset photograph represents that life isn’t all smooth sailing. I purposely disturbed the silence and the serenity in order to show true life setbacks and difficulties.

I am a Sunset kinda girl! That transition of the sun disappearing below the horizon line, marking the cleansing of the dramas of the day and the beginning of the reign of the moon is awe-inspiring to me.

I love the movement in this photo! Not only the children, and the kite, but the movement from Memorial, to life, to the setting sun which signifies the ending of one day, before the beginning of the next. Love it!
