For this week’s photo challenge, explore the vibrant, hopeful colors of your favorite sunrise or sunset.
Taking time to watch the sun set is one of my favorite reality checks. As the sun goes down, I get the most beautiful reminder to appreciate each and every single day. It’s an opportunity to celebrate what I’ve accomplished in the past twenty-four hours while the sky fades to night.
During a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, I had one of those moments. Standing at the San Juan National Historic Site, I watched families and friends chatting, kids laughing and flying kites, and the sun slowly setting behind the horizon. In this moment, it felt like time stopped and I was suspended in a momentary joy.

A peaceful sunset at San Juan National Historic Site.
For this week’s photo challenge, share your favorite photos of a sunrise or a sunset. If you’re an early bird, try to capture what dawn means to you. Is it a symbol of hope? A reminder to get going? Do you have any special early morning rituals that you do as the sun rises in the sky?
For night owls, share a snapshot of the day coming to an end. Show off the vibrant colors of sunset and the peaceful calm as the moon rises or any twilight rituals you may have. Get creative and show us the sun in all of her fiery glory.

Oh- I love the sun and the sky – the stunning combination of light and shadows it forms in the sky… Beautiful picture- Erica, especially that bird flying carelessly>
Sunrises or sunsets make you go beyond the mundane and makes you philosophical. Its an everyday phenomenon, yet doesn’t fail to impress!

The sky can really show off but the human element makes the great photo like yours of folks on the beach.
Here’s mine of people waiting for an eclipse of the moon. https://piecesofstarlight.wordpress.com/2018/03/26/square-sunset/

Years ago, my son was in Fiddler on the Roof and sang “Sunrise, Sunset”. This weekend, we’re celebrating his wedding. My post is a tribute to him. https://scillagrace.com/2018/03/28/weekly-photo-challenge-sunrise-sunset/

Many visitors watch the sunrise from the top of Maui’s Haleakala volcano, but the sunset is just as spectacular, and much more peaceful. http://bit.ly/HalSet
