This week I’m coming to you from the pit of a northern winter. The weather is frigid; the sun is weak and remote. But, the days are just noticeably longer.

To stay optimistic at -30C, I try to imagine spring in full detail: tiny perfect oak leaves sprouting, bird radio increasing in volume, water lapping on red granite as the ice rots and recedes, and the feel of the sun, finally warm on my face.

This week show us something you’re optimistic about, or perhaps a talisman that helps you stay positive and hopeful, regardless of what life (and the weather!) throws your way.
