Humanity

This week, Thirdeyemom challenges you to interpret the theme humanity.

  • Want to participate? Each Wednesday, we’ll provide a theme. Publish a new post with a photo interpreting the weekly theme. Create a pingback to this week’s challenge to share your post with the community. Learn More.

The more I see the world, the more I realize that although people are different, we’re very much the same. We speak different languages, have different cultures, religions, values, and physical traits, yet we all share common hopes and dreams of love, family, and survival.

When I travel, I’m inspired to take photographs that capture humanity — of everyday people around the world — and provoke compassion and an understanding of our differences.

Thirdeyemom is a writer, blogger, and social good advocate living in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

My favorite photos capture the emotions of others and spark a curiosity about their lives. For me, these images reflect humanity and create connections between us.

I met this woman in southern Ethiopia at Project Mercy, a not-for-profit relief and development agency working to alleviate human suffering and poverty in the country. Her pride at her handiwork was evident.

I enjoy using photography as a means to bring the world together.

For this week’s challenge, share what humanity means to you. Share a single photo or a collage like the tiled gallery below to represent a sea of humanity.

As we all know humanity and the spirit of a human being is what we need nowadays to bring balance to this out of balance world… I’m not sure, if this is even possible at all, but the hope and believing in the human spirit might be a good start point 🙂
