Guest host Lignum Draco asks us to experiment with water.
I’m a street photographer based in Sydney, Australia. In my spare time I like to wander around and photograph people. Mostly up close, capturing that fleeting instance of people’s lives that they may not even be aware of. A moment that would otherwise have gone unnoticed.
In May and June I captured the Vivid Festival in Sydney, Australia, for the fifth consecutive year. Trying to keep the images fresh, I photographed from several new locations and angles.
Fortuitously, rain was a prominent feature. I knew I could take advantage of the water to add impact to my photography. During a burst of rain, I set up my tripod and deliberately increased the length of my exposures to catch the rain as trails, rather than droplets, as it passed through the beams of light being projected onto the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

H2O is the chemical formula for water. It describes water broken down into its elements.
For this week’s challenge, share a photo that features H2O; the element of water. Water comes in many different states and guises. From a foggy morning to your favorite watercolor painting, how will you show H2O in a photograph? I look forward to seeing your interpretations.
You always have amazing colors, Lignum!

Mysterious, shape-shifting, life-giving, transformative. We owe water our respect and should not tamper with it in its natural state. The peoples of this nation have known that wisdom for a long time. Only arrogance dismisses reverence.

VERY cool shot. I love shooting in the rain, so long as I stay reasonably dry. 🙂
Here’s mine, a biker with an umbrella pedaling through some rain. Cheers!
