We all start our days in different ways: going for a run, hitting snooze 17 times, or watching the morning news, among many, many others.

Recently, I was lucky enough to start my day with this beautiful latte, courtesy of the talented baristas at Four Barrel Coffee in San Francisco. Starting the day with a cup of coffee: clichéd? Perhaps, but in this case, also delicious.

This week, show us a photo that says “Good morning!”

It could be a shot taken during your morning walk, the morning vista out your kitchen window, your cat doing a pre-breakfast stretch, or a textured close-up of your oatmeal bubbling away at the stove.

I’m excited to see how all your days start — maybe we’ll all pick up a new morning ritual!

New to The Daily Post? Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.

2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.

3. Follow The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements, and subscribe to our newsletter — we’ll highlight great photos from each month’s most popular challenge.

  1. You are exhausted after only 7 hours of sleep. You hit the snooze button 3 times before realizing that its late and you need to get up immediately. You rush your clothing and makeup. You grab 4 pieces of bacon and you’re out the door.

  2. Wow. At 2 a.m. today, I was still up, after a long trip, and managed to schedule this one for 3 hours later, plus one month. Yes. I scheduled it for 5 a.m. on November 5. Sighs. Now home and relaxing and checking for hits and disappointed. Then realizing it hasn’t posted yet. Hmm. Checking and learning of my mistake. So, almost a day late, here it is:

It was fun. Finding out I messed it up was not fun. Ah well.
