For this week’s photo challenge, share with us a photo that expresses something fresh.
In the Northern Hemisphere, spring is beginning to slowly appear, and many of us whose creativity was dampened by the cold and drear of winter days are beginning to reawaken. The freshness of spring is a powerful catalyst to get shutterbugs outdoors and get
shooting.
People living in the Southern Hemisphere are welcoming the early days of autumn, which brings with it a different kind of freshness. I lived in the Carolinas for almost a decade, and I can remember the first autumn days after oppressively hot summers, and feeling like I could finally breathe again. The crispness of the air in the fall also brings about a rebirth of creativity for me. I love both of the transitional seasons.
For this week’s photo challenge, share with us a photo that expresses something fresh. This topic is particularly wide open to interpretation; you might take a macro shot of blades of green grass peeking through melting snow, or the condensation on a glass filled with mojito, made with freshly-squeezed limes. Maybe the sweet face of a puppy, or a landscape at sunrise, the fresh start of a new day. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Fresh: a photo of frangipani leis in Kauai, Hawaii, by Jen Hooks.
My photo was taken early this month in Kauai, Hawaii, at a seaside luau. I love the vibrance and purity of the colors, the velvety texture of the flowers, and the fact that you can see bare toes peeping out at the bottom. To me, it is the essence of fresh.
Hurrah for fresh!! Don’t forget to link your photo using “Weekly Photo Challenge” or “Fresh” or something that allows people using the reader to find your post. Have a marvel-filled weekend.

I live in the Carolinas, and I can relate to the joy of breathing in the fall air after our oppressive summers. Spring to me signifies the onslaught of pollen and the start of the heat. I much prefer the fall! However, you can’t beat the beauty of the azaleas in bloom here in the spring!

I am in Connecticut, and this winter has been brutal. I know the feeling of welcoming in Spring with open arms as this cold weather goes bye bye.

Plumeria has always been a favorite flower – it is so soft like velvet and wonderfully fragrant.
I keep looking for the first buds of spring but not yet.
