This week, share an image of your happy place, a secret spot you love, or a faraway location you return to again and again.
Do you have a favorite bench in your neighborhood? A secret spot that you seek every now and then to reflect or reset? A viewpoint overlooking your favorite town that you climb to whenever you visit? A location in a faraway city that brings you joy? We all have connections to these kinds of places: places of solitude, of refuge, of wonder. For me, one of these places is Neal’s Yard, a little plaza tucked away from the crowds of busy Covent Garden in Central London, England.

No matter how often I visit London to see family and friends, I always seem to find my way back to this colorful spot, often on my own. And even though I’ve taken this exact photo from this very angle so many times over the past two decades, I still take it on each visit. The shops and businesses have changed over the years — I remember getting one of my first piercings here — but these days I’m content with ordering a slice of pizza at Homeslice or coffee at 26 Grains and sitting quietly on one of the benches, gazing up at the painted walls and windows.
What’s your favorite place, near or far? Share an image in a new post!

I really like to visit Fifth Avenue Place in Pittsburgh. It’s one of my favorite places to go to. It allows me to relax while I shop in their stores.

The place I have visited is Dubai. I loved everything about that place. The climate, the infrastructure, the view from the Burj and the desert Safari was splendid. I hope I can visit London some day..

Well, then we have the same favorite place in London. I always return there too. I think because it is a quietly hidden gem. But my special places are in my own country.https://wp.me/p1hCI2-9GI

Hey, this is on my bucket list! http://www.sarah50.blog/about I came across a picture of Neale’s Yard last year and thought it looked intriguing and just the other week, I was telling my parents all about it. Is there a best time to visit it? I’ve been holding off until the summer but is it really colourful all year round? x

The colors are year-round (since they’re on the walls and windows). I love London in the summer (though that never guarantees warm and sunny weather!), but wandering in Covent Garden and Neal’s Yard is lovely any time of year.

I love London. I’ve sadly not been as often as I’d like to and I haven’t been fortunate enough to find my way to this glorious place – but its definitely on the list for next time. For me, its Carvoeiro in the Algarve. I am home there. If only I could live there or bottle the feeling it gives me.

I had no idea they’ve named a yard after me. LOL…
In any event, one special destination–among more than a hundred visited in the past year–that still resonates to my core is reliving the beauty of Banff.
