Summer Fun

Summer memories make everything feel magical to me — carefree and untroubled.

Even on the trips where everything went wrong, I look back and smile at the narrow escapes, or the long walks on a beach while I sorted out and righted the world.

Whether a good memory was made in years past, yesterday, or only moments ago, I love letting the nostalgia wrap me up — like a borrowed sweater on a cold summer night. Even more, I love making new memories: a carefree summer at the lake, a stroll through the park, dancing in the rain… then all I need to do is remember, and the same carefree feeling washes over me.

sheri bigelowIn a new post specifically for this challenge, share a photo that means CAREFREE to you!

We’re looking forward to seeing your magical memories!

1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog (a new post!) anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.

2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.

3. Follow The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements, and subscribe to our newsletter — we’ll highlight great photos from each month’s most popular challenge.

      1. What a thoughtful entry. I like that there is so much history behind the place in the photo—it’s crazy what a contrast it turned out to be.

    1. Thanks! It reminds me so much of good summers past. I wish I could share the sound of the laughter and the soft breeze that accompanies this photo. :)

      1. There should be some sort of camera that does that haha. Not a video, but one that takes a picture and captures the sound and the weather haha. (Thinking way ahead)

  2. A day at the lake with my husband & granddaughter. We take the kayak out and find shallow places to swim, our bologna sandwiches for lunch, and just enjoy the sun, water and each other! This year she decided to tie the rope around her tube so we could tow her…then she up and swam right on past us!!!! Here is my fb pic:

  3. Wow! reading your post made me realise how much memories mean to us and that we should embrace the memories and moments that are special.

  4. When I hunt for a photo to, well, photograph, I find I live life differently. I become someone who doesn’t want to miss opportunities. Like the character in Phantom Tollbooth who carried a telescope with him so he could see the farthest star and the tiniest lichen in the sidewalk crack.

  5. My ‘carefree’ time spent with my Mother in her homeland~

  8. is the market place where students can get the instant help from the experts. In this time of internet online education help is very important and helpful. It helps us when we do not have any physical guide. At the experts4students students can get the answer of the questions they have or they can post the help for other struggling students.

  9. is it Balvaria or Balgaria or Bulgaria? Anyway I am not interested, but thank you for the supposed history lesson. Oh I would have thought a large organization as the Illuminate would have its own .com not using a gmail account that cannot be traced.
