First Friday

New blogger? Welcome! Share a link to your first post, say hello to other new faces, and find your first few readers.

For other help:
If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. What a great post! Thank you SO much for sharing. These are valuable lessons at any age and your reasons for including each makes a lot of sense. 🙂

Would you mind if I left some advice? I noticed you used a lot of tags. Unfortunately, WordPress allows a combined total of 15 tags and categories before they start filtering out posts as spam. So my best advice is to make sure you stay under fifteen so that way more readers may find your posts!

Welcome to the community and happy blogging! 💫

    1. Hi!
I really liked your post. Infact, I loved it. I appreciate the message you tried to bring forward through your post!
We all need to understand that helping others is a way of indulging into the creation of ‘good karma’. What goes around comes back. You do good one day and something good will happen to you, in return. However, help should be provided with the sole motive of doing good to others, not with the expectation of receiving something from the other end.
The way you’ve expressed the whole idea of doing good to others is indeed, commendable! As you have asked for an honest opinion at the end of the post, I would like to tell you that I could see a few grammatical errors. However, they are not of much significance. Maybe, you could just proofread the post.
As I said, I loved the post! Looking forward to read more from you! You’ve got a new follower!

      1. Thank u. What matters to a writer is that it is interpreted the way I wanted to. Even a small positive impact if I could make in my readers life is all what matters through my post.
I am happy that my new follower is you. Your posts and writings are amazing.
Thank u for your valuable suggestion. I will definitely work on it .

    3. Shubho Dewali! I really liked your post. And as you point out in your post, giving back is an awesome habit. Therefore, as we all know English, while almost a universal language, is extremely difficult. So I would like to offer you the chance to have me edit your text before you post. Just send it to me via email prior to publishing, and I will correct any grammatical errors. I am not a professor of English, so I too sometimes make mistakes, but I wouldn’t mind helping you if you wish. Just let me know.

      1. Thanks for liking my post. Yeah if u have enough u must give.
Thanks for your help. I would be glad if u correct my grammatical mistakes but everytime u do so i miss the opportuinity of doing it myself. U can always comment my errors and i will definitely improve it.
Once again thanks. And happy diwali

      1. Hi @Mr. Capable,

I notice that you’re living many similar short comments inviting readers to follow your blog. This is a bit spammy — you’ll get more traction by visiting others’ sites and leaving thoughtful comments about their work. Note that future comments like these will be deleted. Thanks for understanding!

    1. Wow, I am so sorry to read about your breakup, it seems like it was really rough. Keep going girl, keep your chin up, it will be okay. I think writing about it will be good for you to be able to heal and learn to live without him.

    1. Nice blog. I don’t think you need the “My blog is” part in your subhead and it could be shortened. Check your spacing between punctuation and words and paragraphs. Oh, and start writing! 🙂 We want to hear more!

      1. Hey sure no problem!
You site looks really good. I especially enjoyed the format of your post with the rating and everything!
I suggest you add a ‘categories’ section on the homepage, in terms of the different genres of the books that you’ll review.
I think it will make the blog more neat and easy to navigate for new readers!
All in all, I really liked it. The pictures are good too!

      1. Thank you. I don’t feel that typing with elegance suits me. I am in a very professional field but I rarely speak with professional language because I feel as if I am talking down to people I don’t like that. I want to be on the level with people, not above them. I truly do write what I think and how I speak. I am glad you enjoy it. Thanks for dropping in!

    1. In regards to your diets… if you get Netflix, watch Forks over Knives. Brilliant documentary will make you want to change the way you eat TONIGHT! And it’s just as easy as getting over the mind stuff, not any weird or expensive way of life. Good luck. 🙂
