To find, copy, and paste your link:

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Hey…checked your blog, nice start! …but you need to do little bit of the theme customization. First you have a text widget on your blog which needs to be edited. Check those social icons, they can be pointed to your social sites or be deleted if you don’t want. Your about page also needs editing.. Please take care of them.
      Good luck.

      1. Please don’t worry about followings, its will come as you start posting quality stuff. I recommend you to look at daily prompts, which gives you writing ideas. Also take part in those weekly challenges happening in WP. That will give exposure to your posts and do interaction with other users. I have written specifically one post on this topic, if you have time check that also. Don’t worry about the follower count at this point.. Hope this is helpful.. Good luck to you.

    2. It’s definitely a good start, welcome officially to WP community.
1stly, your setup was nice and artistic which is good and I like.
2ndly, you should work on editing your blog posts before publishing them, it’s very important.
      3rdly, keep writing!

    1. Hey.. you have uniquely styled home page. You have started well and interesting posts already. Just take care of your about page and those social icons on your blog.
      Good luck and have fun!

    2. I like it, your post almost made me shed tears cos not only did it remind me that I need to go home but it also made me see reasons why I should.
Family is definitely always the key.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to Wp community, Great start.

    3. I like your use of bigger words. I feel that your text could benefit from more white space. I find the WP app likes to eat my spaces between text and I have to go back and edit them in. It’s much easier to absorb your message with more paragraph delineation! Happy Blogging! Hope that helps.

    4. Hi there! You’ve got an awesomely designed blog, specifically your layout. It is user friendly, simple, and ease to navigate. I did notice that your “first blog post” is an example from WordPress and isn’t your actual first post.
In case you didn’t know, and I did not see this problem on yours but knows it’s good knowledge to have, when you use tags and categories try to send under fifteen combined; anything more and WP filters them out as spam.
Welcome to the land of blogging! I wish you all the best. 🙂💫

    1. Hey…checked your blog, congratulations on new blog! …but you need to do little bit of the theme customization. First the site title, very important you set that. Next you have a text widget which needs to be configured. Also check those social icons, they can be pointed to your social sites or be deleted if you don’t want. About page also needs editing.. Please take care of them. Good luck.

    2. The way you share makes me feel like we’re sitting at the table together over a cup of coffee. 😊 Nice job. I would suggest you double check your use of “your” vs “you’re”. That may bug some grammar Nazis. 😉

    1. Nice blog Aniket Lovey theme you have there. Something very new! But please note you have text widget under the menu which needs to be configured. Those social icons, have to be pointed to your social sites. Your about page also needs editing.. Please take care of them. Good luck.

    1. Your blog is very versatile and covers topics not only related to mental health but other stuff also. That is something I really like. I do not have much experience with people with mental health issues so in that sense your blog was very informative, keep up the good work.

      1. The blog you liked my posts of was my main blog. I don’t know how you landed there rather than on my new journal-style blog, but it’s okay. I’m glad you like my content.

      2. Maybe because I clicked on your name to access your content on the reader mode (which I prefer as it is easier to navigate) Now that you’ve mentioned that those are two different websites, I’ve got to check your newer blog too.

    2. Cheers, Astrid! Your new journal style blog looks great! I hope you’ll find this new journey to be all you expected and then some. Best wishes to you and your blogging! 💫

      1. Really love your first post!! The way you talk about love is something very relatable and something which is so deep and true, and not many people give thought to it like you do. Amazing start to your blog, keep writing like this!

    1. I am a simple man, I see food, I click like. Haha, kidding aside, I wish to see a lot more posts from you, since you currently only have one, it is a promising start, do not get discouraged and post often. Cheers!

      1. All fixed! Thanks Pauline. Bit of a mysterious as to why it switched back to ‘private’, but it is public facing now.

    1. Welcome Seven!

I loved your about page, it felt like you were talking right to me. I also enjoyed your post disappointment. I didnt enjoy that you were feeling that, but that it was well written and took me back to my times of feeling those same emotions.

my only suggestion it to consider some pictures now and then. Otherwise it looks great!

    1. I like your narrative style. Perhaps you could also tweak your About page – surely there’s more to the reason you’re covering local sports other than love of sports and/or Cleveland, right? What made you want to tell sports stories? Your very first post – which will get buried as you write and write and write and we hope you do – is a pretty good start of your self-description. Your blogging voice will start from there.

    1. I just looked over your blog. It was very nice. I would recommend that if you are going to have a photographic backdrop and feature image, that it be one of yours and not stock images. Your About Page needs updating. You may consider a simpler theme to match your simple life.

    2. Hi, your blog is exciting and looks great (yummy too). Wanted to pin one of your recipes to my pinterest, but you did not have a link. Was that intentional? Shared to my FB so I won’t loose it. Best of luck

    1. We’re glad you’re so excited about your new blog (yay!), and that you shared your link here. We’d appreciate it if you didn’t leave multiple comments linking to your blog — we’ll remove the duplicates. The best way to get people to visit you is to visit them and/or leave them some meaningful feedback!

    1. Good Morning Queenyasaaa, and welcome!

I enjoyed your art and your writing. Especially Label Free and the Be.you.tiful movement. One thing you may want to do on your page is edit your about page and your widgets-you still have default text there.

Otherwise things are looking great. I look forward to seeing more of your work

    1. welcome! The pictures you’ve posted are stunning! I especially like the yellow dressed dancer. That picture makes me want to visit and watch whatever performance that was. Every picture though had so much color and art it was all beautiful,

Suggestions for your blog are: make sure each picture has a description. some pictures did, others didn’t. Putting descriptions with each picture will make it easier on your reader. Also, your blog titles are all “Mandawa blogs”, consider having the specific place be the title “Havelis of Mandawa” or “The Royal Junction of Mandawa”

    1. Welcome 🙂

I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar, over to the right of your posts — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

    1. Hi, you’ve jumped directly into a serious yet important first post, seems like you need to get it off your chest quick. It may be a good idea to tell readers a bit about yourself first on the about page as that’s where most people tend to go first.

Also, the last sentence in your post has nearly 80 words (sorry I had to count)…

      Happy blogging!

    1. Really love the pictures that you feature of the books. They are very well done. I also love the layout. I plan on doing book reviews at some point in the future. I still have a long ways to go of building a following first though.
