To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Nice blog there Aayushi. Like the theme too… all looks good. Just one suggestion, please add “Read More” tag to your posts so that on home page it shows just about a paragraph per post. It looks more neat and readable… good luck and keep posting!

    2. Looks like a great start. I love the picture of the braided hair with flower, and also the header picture of the pine trees.
Thank you for sharing about your favorite author, I’m curious to check out his work now.

    3. Some of the reasons why (not 13 though) I like your blog are :
      a. Ruskin Bond
      b. Organized Layout and a very vivid theme
      c. Creative style of writing, with a stroke of wanderlust emotions
Now one advise would be to use more relevant and more searched tags, as tags can be the Weapon X to get more visitors, and that’s your ticket to having a larger audience. However do not cross the limit of 15, as WordPress filters out posts having 15 or more number of categories and tags combined (Yes, uncategorized stands as a category too) as an anti-spamming measure. Wishing you all the best. Keep writing with the same passion and dedication. Much Regards

    1. Nice organized layout. One thing I noticed is you have some placeholder texts on your sidebar which you need to remove/edit using the “Text Widget” section of your Theme Customizer. And as always keep writing with the same passion and dedication. Cheers! 🙂

    2. Good to see you joining the blogging community, J Seth. Your blog looks good except for that missing widget, as others have mentioned. May I suggest you go to Themes, hit Customize, then in the left hand pop-out bar hit Widgets. You’ll see a list of what you already have and in the bottom an Add Widget. Hit that. You’ll get a new screen. Add a “Follow this Blog” widget and install it in the right hand side bar. Someday you may want to add a Top Posts widget, too.

As to your About page, “The trumpet gives an uncertain sound.” I assume from your name you’re male…and you were raised in a Christian home or you wouldn’t be calling yourself a prodigal. Your first blog post indicates you grew up in the US, Are you still there? Fourteen or sixty-four? I think you need to clarify some facts to give yourself more credibility with readers.

      1. Thanks for the details on widgets, Christine. Very helpful. And the advice on opening up makes a lot of sense. Much appreciated.

  1. Hello everybody,

Less than a month ago I started my new blog. I write about conspiracy theories and other nonsense on the internet. My blog posts cover things like the delusion of “gang-stalking,” the pseudoscience peddlers “The Spirit Science,” and a couple of pseudolegal extremist movements.

This is my first, introductory blog from last month:

    2. Really liked the poem, the flow of it. “Waves Palpitated like a pulse”- this was captivating. One advise would be to use categories and tags for your posts, they can help your blog stay more organized and can get you more views. As always, keep writing with the same passion and dedication. Cheers! 🙂

  2. Hello,
I started my blog just over 3 weeks ago because I got scared of the fact everyone’s going to uni and starting their lives whilst i’m here on a gap year not knowing what I want to do. I thought I love to write and read so why not start a blog and so I got the courage too. I don’t know where this will go but im writing about travel, health and food so if you’re willing to give it a read.
I’d love to hear what people think. Hope you’re having a wonderful day.

    1. Hi Arshia. Interesting posts! I would suggest updating your “About” and “Contact” pages. You can use the same information you have on your Gravatar profile if you’d like.
PS: is your tagline from the show The Originals? (:

    2. Hey. Looks like you have to get your “About” page written up. You’re 14 and already a wonder and it’s very inspiring and motivating to see young dynamic people like you to step up in the play of words. Well, I’m also a Netflix person, would love to know what series you follow other than supernatural which is pretty cool. And as always keep writing with the same passion and dedication 🙂

    1. Hello, and welcome to the world of blogging! I like how your posts are detailed and informative. One suggestion I can offer is editing your site title through your customizer as it currently still shows the default “Site Title.” Also, you should delete the “First Blog Post,” as this is an example post from your theme and doesn’t showcase your content. Hope this was helpful. Good luck!

    2. Looks like you haven’t set up your Site Title yet. Along with which I suggest you to look more into your Theme Customizer and make your blog more visually appealing. You’ve a long way to go. As always keep writing with the same passion and dedication. Cheers! 🙂

    1. Inspiring post! I would recommend adding a “Home” button to make your site easier to navigate. You can also add a menu with your categories.
You have good featured images on your posts, but they are not visible along side your post on the Home page. By making these images visible, it will make your site visually attractive.

I think you may have a couple extra spaces in “About – DesignerWorld Studio” on your top menu. Currently it looks like you have 3 clickable links: “About – Designerworld,” “Studio,” and “Contact”

    1. Very interesting posts. Glad I’m out of that age & stage, but I can feel with those who are still finding their way through.

One thought: Word Press allows a total of fifteen tags/categories. Use as many as you can–applicable to subject at hand. You could have added Thoughts, Reflections, Musings, Opinions, Culture, Romance, Entertainment, maybe even Articles.

Yes even if you’re out the other side everyone has been here at some point. It’s great to for everyone to relate to at whatever point of there love life/dating life they are at. For me I write from my own experiences, and I’m really enjoying writing. Thank you for reading.

      2. If you’re mentioning your own experiences, then you can add “Personal” to the tags. 🙂 And probably “Life,” too. 😉

Your mention of dates at movies reminds me of a friend who’s date was so nervous. He jerked during a really scary scene, knocking his Coke onto her lap and into her carton of popcorn. You can add that to your warnings. 🙂

However I noticed you are having some placeholder texts on your sidebar which you need to remove/ edit using the “Text Widget” section of your Theme Customizer. Along with which do get your “About” page written up and use the “Read More” widget on your posts rather than keeping the whole post on display on your home page. Keep writing as always. Cheers! And if you would like to leave a feedback on my blog, you’re more than welcomed to do so. You can visit my page here

  3. Hey, everyone!
Here’s a link to my first post! It is a short story based on my life.

    A Tentative Beginning: Part One

I intend for my blog to be quite eclectic, including more short stories of my life, personal reflections, and hopefully a poem or two. I would really appreciate some followers and feedback as I do not intend to show this to anyone I know. I can be more honest here if there is no overlap with life.

    1. I read your “About” page, it’s heartbreaking to know what all you have gone/ going through. But do not loose hope above all. Your posts have a very good framework, with a good touch to attention to details. “Written by A Broken Girl for a Broken World” – I like this phrase. Along with which I found you have some placeholder texts on your viewbar below your posts which you need to remove/ edit using the “Text Widget” section of your Theme Customizer. And as always keep writing with the same passion and dedication. If you’d want to visit my page and leave a comment or two, you’re more than welcomed to do so.

Although those without are quite spectacular, anytime something falls asleep my instant thought is something to the effect of, “this is what it must be like to not have this limb” until 15 seconds later it hurts like no other; unless that’s part of the no limb deal too.
