If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Your blog looks great, I absolutely love the theme and the layout. Secondly, all the best for your trip. I really liked the essentials you have got already for the trip. And as always, keep writing and sharing your story. Cheers! 🙂

    2. It was a great layout indeed… safe journey on your trip. I like the pictures inserted instead of just words of things you packed as essential. Good job. Welcome to WP community!

    3. I really like the look of your blog! Lighthearted and fun. Keep writing, you’re doing great! I started only a few months ago so I’m still finding my feet in the blogging world x

    1. Loved the post and the theme of your blog. New York so full of life, the pictures are so beautiful and tell stories about the city within themselves. However I noticed you’re using a lot many tags as WordPress actually filters out posts having 15 or more number of tags and categories combined. Do reduce the number of tags you use and just keep the most relevant ones. Keep writing as always. Cheers! 🙂

    2. Great information for a new visitor to York. You’ve taken some stunning photographs of one of my favourite cities! xx

    3. Beautiful pics and you have got a very nice and lean theme here. However I would suggest you to use less images in the one post. You could have different post for different pics. So many pics in one post will distract reader and he / she will not read the whole article.

This is my personal view, you may not want to follow.

    1. That’s a nice start. Your insights on Reality and Truth were good. I would suggest you to try out some Themes and proper layout to make your blog look more beautiful.
      All the best. Keep writing.

    2. Hey I went through your page. Looks like you have placeholder texts on your sidebar which you need to remove/edit using the “Text Widget” section of your Theme Customizer. Secondly, get your about page written up. Next, I like your poem, the gist of it, but certainly there is a scope for lots of improvement and I hope you go ahead to be a great writer. And yes if you can I would love some reviews on my blog. Here’s the link to it: https://digantamisra1.wordpress.com/ .
Thanks again and as always keep writing. Cheers! 🙂

Oh my sunshine link page is broken, pls check it once and remove if not required. Also remove text widget in the sidebar.

  2. Hey guys. I came across a wonderful blog which enlightened me about “Ottava Rima” – an eight stanza poem with the rhyming scheme as : abababcc . So, I tried one of my own and I wrote it as a tribute for the victims of sexual abuse. I would love if you could give it a read and leave some feedback. Here’s the link to it: https://digantamisra1.wordpress.com/2017/05/26/violet-and-vices/
I would love to do the same in return so don’t forget to put up your links to your pages in the comments. Thanks all. Cheers! 🙂

    1. Hi Diganta, your feedback to others is extremely welcome, but I’d like to remind you that First Friday posts are really for people writing and sharing their very first posts, which is not quite the case for you (you’ve been prolific — kudos!). You’re of course always welcome in the Community Pool threads.

      Thanks!

      1. Thank you so much. Thank you for spending some time to read my post. Just a small correction if you don’t mind, don’t take me wrong. The people over there are also rich. They help one another, encourage, play, eat, spread joy, love to learn etc., to my belief, it’s not how much money you have that make you rich.. it’s just small things like those that makes you truly rich. Mainly, when you influence and touch the heart of someone, you’ll live on.. you’re truly rich 😊

However one advise would be not to use repetitive words like “man” (according to my personal opinion ), otherwise it was great, the flow, attention to details and the feeling of a real time conversation was vivid from your writing. Keep it up. And if you could, would love some feedback on my blog, I have some short stories of mine too. Here’s the link to it: https://digantamisra1.wordpress.com/

  3. Hi, I call myself Libra – this is my blog: https://libraandlavender.com/ I decided to write a blog about my path in witchcraft and feminism. Go ahead and take a look and tell me what you think. I also would like some sort of (positive) feedback on the layout and writing if you can spare of the time!

      1. Thanks! Feminist Witchcraft is not a new concept, however, I do not follow most of what Pagan feminists believe – I’m trying to create my own witchery from what I’ve learned in feminism, history, and various paths within paganism.

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Well, I don’t much an insight into paganism and witchcraft, hope your blog helps me in the same, however with the term “Feminism” I always have the debate in my mind regarding its battle against the “Feminazi”

      3. “however with the term “Feminism” I always have the debate in my mind regarding its battle against the “Feminazi””

For fear of misinterpreting your message, can you clarify this statement? Unless, you want to close this discussion. All you have to do is stop talking to me lol.

Through my blog, I hope to bring the truth about feminism into light. Although, I’m not the first one to do this and not the last (there are other feminist blogs). And it is certainly a very large goal for one person.

        Liked by 2 people

      4. Feminazi as termed here is the act of misinterpreting rights and misguiding people to use these rights in a way to give the female gender a more superior position over male gender. It’s a constant topic of debate

      5. I have never heard of this term used that way – as a definition I mean. I’ve always heard it used as a derogatory term aimed at feminists to bully them or make them feel unsafe.

This is a gentle reminder that First Fridays are really for blogger sharing their very first posts as new bloggers — as we state in this post: “Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago.”

I see people have already replied to your post and I don’t want to delete this conversation, but we will do so for future posts that resurface older posts. You’re always welcome to share your posts at the Community Pool (there’s a new thread there every Monday).
