Community Pool

The place where bloggers give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

  1. Hi everyone..
“Loving yourself first doesn’t make you selfish. It makes you indestructible.” It took me a lot of time to realise that I should stop waiting and expecting love from anyone else but myself. Would love to have your opinion on these lines I wrote in this post.
    Here is the link..

    NO MORE..

    Thank you.

  3. Hi swimmers! I am a graduate student living with Tourette Syndrome. I am in the process of weaning off of a particularly unkind medication. This is my newest update! –KMJhttps://tictocksite.wordpress.com/2017/05/15/one-week-later/

      1. I left my views on your recent post. However I see there are some text widgets which you need to remove by customising your theme. Cheers!

  4. Hi everyone! I just got back from vacation today but managed to post a couple of new things last week. I wrote about my trip to the UK some more – particularly about my visit to Glasgow, Rosslyn Chapel, Gretna Green and some food reviews. I also posted about Holyrood Palace today.
Feel free to check out my blog! I hope you have a good day. 🌻

  5. Hello, WP world! I have finally posted a blog using the Daily Prompt, helping me to finish one of the final assignments in the 14-day Blogging University Beginners course (which I’ve been cramming into 40+ days so far). I’m wishing I had a free picture of a elegantly-set table with the perfectly-dressed hostess standing next to it as a featured image for this post on hospitality, but I couldn’t find one. So, if you can help me with that, I’d appreciate it! Also, I am–especially here at the beginning–eager to have help in figuring out more and/or better tags to label my posts with. So, please feel free to offer suggestions on any or all of my posts (only 5 at this point). Thanks in advance!

    1. Your blog has a nice look to it and the Keukenhof photos are beautiful. Do you know how to install widgets in your sidebar? If so, you need to install a Follow this Blog Widget — and definitely in the sidebar. I see you have your Recent Posts in the footer. A Categories or Tag cloud widget will prove useful once you have a number of posts up. These make blogs more user friendly; readers can tell at a glance what you’ve written about.

      All the best.

    1. It mostly looks very good, and the tutoring center I work in could probably use something like this, but I wonder why what appears to be a tutoring hub for the entire center focuses on anatomy and physiology. It might also be a good idea to spell out “Anatomy and Physiology” throughout the site for keyword purposes, since the information here might be useful to people outside FSU tutoring center and they might find it more easily with the words spelled out.

      1. I did, and I posted the correct one in the comments. I would have fixed it within the original comment but I don’t think it will let me edit.

      1. Thank you Rina, it took some courage to share about the topic, i kinda feel naked now 😃.
Great feedback on the title of my blog too-really appreciate it. I started it while wondering about the adventures the chocolate was having on my appetite 🙈
