To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

      1. Thank you! It isn’t just an arbitrary free theme. When I first bought my house and beautiful owl landed in the front yard. I took it as a sign of success and I was finally where I should be.

      2. That’s so sweet!! Don’t get me wrong, when I first visited your blog, the gallery in the bottom bar was filled with your cute son’s photos, and I was like “He’s so small to run a blog, how could he write so good?” haha

    2. I just started up with my first couple of posts- I’d really like to develop my Culture section into a place where I can talk about new books, music, movies, etc that I experience, and the impact they’ve had on me. First one is just on the new Netflix Riverdale though, just for fun 🙂

    3. I love writing poems. Anything that is on my mind from my life gets translated to therapy writing. I do have some fashion sketches but use them to express a word that they represent. Wondering if you would like them?

    1. I enjoyed reading your post! I know that it’s a matter of personal taste, but you might add a “like” button so that people can show their love if they don’t want to leave a comment. That way you’ll know that you’ve reached people.
      Good job! 🙂

  2. I am a new blogger (literally just wrote my first post today)! I came across your post and hesitated because I’m still new to all of this 😦
I would love any feedback, commentary, and advise for my future blog posts!

    1. Welcome to the blogging world! Looking good so far! 🙂 You might want to delete the generic “First Blog Post” as it still displays the default message. You can do this under “Blog Posts” in “My Site.” Good luck!

    2. Yay you! I think you’re on the right track. I think all of us found that first blog post to be intimidating, but this wordpress community is extremely welcoming and begins to feel like a supportive family in no time. And, hopefully along the way you’ll discover yourself in the new ways you hope! 🙂

    3. My love you’re not alone in the world of blogging! I very much appreciate your writing because I connect so well with it. You’ll find your groove like the rest of us. It just takes time and a bit of teeth pulling to break out that box ! ❤️ but you’ve just gained another follower and since you’re in your 20s I’ll suggest you take a peek at my blog ! Lol feel free to follow and like!

    4. Hi there, I’m a new blogger too. I did blog a few years back but wasn’t too serious about it. I abandoned it and now decided to be more motivated and get back to blogging. It is both exciting and overwhelming! I find it’s really hard to push myself to create content and post, it’s not like I’m doing this full time LOL

I like your blog. Come check out mine if you have time!

  3. If you are looking for motivation to achieve your goals, or maybe you feel like you’re slipping away from your resolutions, stop by my page. I write book reviews over biographies, classics, and inspiring nonfiction. The books I share have inspired me and taught me some extremely important lessons.

    1. Welcome 🙂

I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar, on the right-hand side — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

  4. Hello my fellow bloggers! I am a student and a new here because this was our project in english to make blogs and have others to comment their opinions or appreciations in our blogs. I need your power of reviewing and to comment your opinions on my blogs🙏 I can also check yours so that we both can read each others’ blogs.

This was my first blog and after this project I hope that I can do more random blogs! Thank you very much😊😁

  5. I’ve had the blog for a while, but it hadn’t been updated, so I’ve scrapped everything and started anew. I’ve decided to post about my crafting attempts as well as updates to my Etsy shop.

    a brand new start

I’m still tinkling around the the widgets to make everything look nice. Tell me what you think. 🙂

  6. I hope you will enjoy the world of blogging as much as we do, I just started a few months back and became active in December last year. I have been addicted since then and every day, I am inspired to write, to blog, and to share. The greatest feeling is having to press published after every article I finish!

Love, love, love! Make your voice be heard in the blogging world. Speak out!
