If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your post, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • The third time is not the charm: don’t share your stuff repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. These will be removed as well.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments or repeatedly replying to comments with your link; this is considered spammy. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Hello there, @thegirlonthego08,

First Friday is really a space for brand new people to introduce themselves and meet one another, and for others to welcome and support them. As a blogger with a few posts under your blogging belt, I’d suggest checking out the Community Pool, which is where any blogger can seek feedback on any aspect of blogging.

  3. Hello there! I just started this blog a few days ago and I think it’s just going to be a stream of consciousness/collection of thoughts blog… My first blog isn’t anything special, just an introduction I guess but I hope you enjoy it!

  4. I’m an aspiring writer and I’m looking for support and to build a community of writers to give me advice and to critique my work (and I will do the same for them) but also have them stand with me in my journey to complete my first novel.

I have created a new blog. I was getting a feeling that I go through a lot in my mind and perhaps I should write.

    1. You’ve got a good start going. Even personal blogs are an experiment in self-expression, which is itself an experiment in confidence.

May I suggest throwing in a few images into your posts? Adds a little more space in your post and it’s a good creative exercise (moreso than people think).

      1. Thank you! And I’ll definitely start adding images to my posts, I have been thinking about it for a while now. Thanks for all the advice 🙂

  6. Hey guys I just restarted blogging. I blogged for a while and then I quit and not I restarted something brand new! I’m writing almost like diary entries about my love life and eventually I will show them to my boyfriend. Any advice on how to get more traffic or writing style or anything would be helpful! Thank you!

    1. Hey! Courtney. I’ve checked out your, it’s pretty great. The theme looks interesting! Though, you’ve not made a post but I’d advise that don’t write long posts, it gets hard for a reader to read a long post. And if you want traffic on your blog then try to interact as much as you can with other fellow bloggers.
      Happy Blogging!! 🙂 🙂

  8. Hello and welcome, new folks! We’re really excited to meet you.

As usual, we just want to remind everyone that we moderate the comments on First Friday pretty heavily — this is really a space for brand new people to introduce themselves and meet one another, and for others to welcome and support them. If you’re not here to either share your (recent) first post or leave a supportive comment, please head to the Community Pool, which is where any blogger can seek feedback on any aspect of blogging. And if you’re not sure what the guidelines here are, please read the above post — or just ask!

    Happy blogging, y’all 🙂

  9. Hello there! I started to blog on the 22nd of this month which happens to be my 17th birthday when I realised I had enough in my head to share with people and I could build something out of this. So here we are, and I’d love to hear what you think about my blog and my write-ups. Have a great day! 🙂

    1. Hello @seunadetunji,

Love what you’ve done with your blog — great work!

I noticed on your About page you have links to your social media pages — I’d recommend linking those up on your sidebar as well. (They’re listed in your About me Widget, though they’re not clickable links.) Here’s a bit of info on how to use html to make a clickable link in your About me widget.
