To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your post, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • The third time is not the charm: don’t share your stuff repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. These will be removed as well.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments or repeatedly replying to comments with your link; this is considered spammy. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

  1. Hello guys!

While I am no brand new blogger (only two months blogging)

I would like to have your feedback about the new blog I created today. The first post “welcome to my world!” Is a particular way to say hi. It’s me trying different styles.

Here is the link to it.

      1. Thanks a lot. I am no saint but today we lie so much to ourselves and to others that just a little bit of honesty looks like a supernova. Definitely I have stories to tell and I hope you will enjoy them.

      1. Thanks I would never use arts of others without at least giving the origin. Heading of the about and contact are from pixabay but captions do not appear. On my next posts I will try the more I can to put drawings and pictures of my own.

      1. Hello hello, thanks for the support.
About the technical part of the blog I am a big newbie. This is just a cool free template. It’s name is cubic if you want to look for it.

      1. Thanks for taking the time and the support.

Haha I do not claim it to be a new style, it’s just different from my other blog and express different things in a different way and probably will interest different people.

      1. Everything is fine and good. I would suggest you to use the text widgets and other widgets at the end of your website. You can also use widgets in the sidebar, they actually attracts the readers.
Use text widget, follow widget and there are many other, give them a try.
To make your page more appealing, I would also suggest you to try other colour schemes for your blog, you may design the pattern of colour at the background.
        😊
Hope it helps, have a great day!

    1. I enjoyed reading your post. Looks the site doesn’t have an overall title yet. Giving it one would give a focus or direction and help people to understand what they can expect to see on there. Good luck!

      1. Thank you! I noticed that too. I made the header but I think I cropped it too much and it zoomed too far. I’ll look into fixing that.

    1. I like it a lot. Good design and template that complements the content. Also, the pictures look really sharp and professional.

Though I’m a bit of a lazy mess and will probably never get enough motivation to make any of this stuff. Following a blog like this means I’m trying. And you get points for trying 😀

    2. I love it as I’m always keen to find a new recipe. On a technical note how do you create your blogs with a photo that fills the whole width of the screen? I’m new to this and if you look at my posts the photos are just sort of dotted throughout. I think it would have more impact to have one opening photo in each post as you have done. I would appreciate any advices. Thanks.

      1. You have lovely photos! I had the same problem with small pictures until I switched WordPress themes. Try looking through the choices and find one that will do a better job of showcasing your beautiful pictures! There are lots of them that are great for that. Hope that helps!

    1. Hey you have great creative writing skills ! The post about self acceptance is so true !! You should consider working on your theme and lay out. The font size should may be increased along with paragraphs for better readability.

      Cheers !

    1. Soumya,
Great photographs and some profound thoughts ! I like the layout and I guess if you are concentrating on photographs this layout should work. I noticed at the end of the post that some of them are uncategorized, consider adding this information for better navigation.
      Keep Clicking Cheers !

Do you mind having a look at my blog and tell me what do you think of my photography , I am always struggling with it !

  3. Hello friends,My first post will give you a better idea of me as a person. It’s a poem. It reflects the views of an incorrigible optimist who in any condition is unable to accept that something won’t work. Or happiness can’t be achieved. Who believes life is easy and every one of us is born to be happy, delighted cheerful at every moment. Living my life at the fullest, also want other people to fill that from all of their heart. Any kind of discussions or questions are welcome.

  4. Hello everybody! I’m extremely new to blogging and started my blog last month. I know I have a long way to go in navigating through some technical stuff so I’m sharing my first “real” blog post. I have a love for photography and enjoy telling stories with my photos. I plan on doing some sort of post every week of a random activity, places I’ve visited or food I’ve cooked with my photography. Would love some feedback!

    1. Hey Julie, I saw your blog ! Loved the one under the heading of “Light the Fire”. You should consider putting some stuff under the about and contact pages ! Also your cover page is so dark and fierce and as you scroll down the bright yellow back ground is an extreme contrast – so its a little confusing to gauge the feel of the blog !

Do you mind taking a look at mine and giving me some feedback ! Cheers

    1. O’shine, (is that your name ?) Your writing style is so much fun. I admire how you push in serious issues in a relaxed humorous time…like the bank queue story. And also your posts give a great insight into life in Lagos ! I would love to see some pictures so maybe consider adding those. Keep writing … I will look forward to your posts.

      Cheers 🙂

It will be great if you can have a look at my blog and tell me what you think !

    1. I really like the look of your blog, the header is great and I like the colours in general. It could be good to have a picture in your blog posts or something visual just to break up the writing, but that is of course my preference 🙂

      1. Thank you very much for taking a look at it. I have added some pictures in my more recent posts, but don’t actually have many from that time period because I lost all my photos along with my phone 😦 I will be able to add more soon though. Thanks again!

    1. Hi Alina,
I really enjoyed your first post on labels, I can definitely relate to the addiction of looking at food labels. The only thing I think you’re missing from your blog is some pictures. I want to know who the person writing is, so I can feel more of a connection 🙂

    2. Hey, i really like the look of your blog, and am looking forward to hearing more about your journey 🙂 a good thing to do on posts is to add in a ‘read more’ option, so that the full post doesnt appear on your home page, otherwise it may be difficult to locate posts once you have a few more on there. There is an option for that in the reader

    3. I absolutely LOVE the topic of your blog, and I appreciate your writing. It’s very conversational and clear.

While the layout is really clean and the colors are wonderful and catchy without being overwhelming, it feels a little bare. I agree that more pictures are needed, especially in your “About” section.

Also, I would recommend to delete or hide sections you’re not actively using. There’s a generic WordPress example tagline that is slightly jarring.

But overall, it’s off to a great start. I’m definitely interested in more.
