To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. (If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!)

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

  1. Hi Blogoshphere, I’ve rather hastily started a new blog in honour of getting my first short story published in a magazine. The rest of the blog will be about writing, reading, the submissions process, and all things books.

Check out my virgin blog post here: https://bbfitton.wordpress.com/2016/05/26/my-first-short-story-getting-published-by-litro-magazine/

I hope you’ll follow the agonies (and hopefully ecstasies) of my writing journey!

  3. Hello!

My blog is still a bit new with only being around for a few months. I dedicate my blog to writing poetry, short stories, and novels. My most important project is a novel that I’m writing called “The Eighth Tribe: Humanity”. If you enjoy Science Fiction novels then you should check it out! If you don’t have time to read something that long then you could always read one of my poems instead! 🙂

    Thanks so much!

    2. Just keep at it and you’ll get better over time. Read and follow other blogs you like often. See what they’re doing that you like.

Write engaging titles, use pictures and write using your personality. You’ll soon get into the swing of it 🙂

    3. OMG I AM TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!! This is my first time to see another Filipino blogger here in WordPress. I hope we can be friends, I’m a Filipino, too. 🙂 And Hindu Reddy is right, the quantity doesn’t matter as long as you put your heart in every post that you write. I’m looking forward to your next posts!

Have a great day wherever you are! X

    4. Everyone suffers from writers’ block sometime or the other, don’t fret, just make it a point to write something everyday. It may be just a sentence or a paragraph, but be sure to write something, it may be bad too, just keep saving it in your drafts. This technique was suggested to me by writer friend who faced the same problem. Keep blogging, hope to see more of your posts.

PS: Check out our travel blog, and give us some feedback

  4. Hello, World!
I started blogging 27 days ago, and it took me years to finally do it. You can read a little about it on my first blog post ever: https://boxofpages.wordpress.com/2016/05/14/hello-world/

I write about “People & Their Money”, “Culture & Society”, “Prose & Poetry”. Well, actually simply about everything and nothing at all. I just love to write and share my perspective. I’d really love and appreciate your visit, suggestion, and commentary.

    Have a nice weekend!!

      Congrats on your engagement! 🙂

  6. Hello peeps! 😀 This is my first time stumbling upon this amazingness, and I already love it! 😀 ❤

My blog is about recovery from mental health issues and getting access to those better days. I've posted articles I've written about my mental health in my university's newspaper, me doing some of the daily prompts, sharing my artwork, my musings about other people's OCD and what that has sparked in my own self-understanding as well as book reviews and other projects I hope to embark on as the months go on! 🙂

Also, if you're inclined to some gift art from me, I need new projects!! I'd love to make you something, just let me know what medium and if you have a preference for something. You can check out my snazzy mindfulness based drawing skills if you're interested in that medium ^^
Anywho, time to link now! I hope you all have a magical day visited by the most extraordinary unicorn with rainbows and glitter falling from the sky all over your hard work. :3

    1. Hello fellow peep!

I love that you are writing about mental health. It affects so many of us these days and it is a definite topic to crack open and display it’s true colours. I am going to follow your page and I can’t wait to see what else you have to write 🙂
In return I ask you to stumble your charms across my blog too. I only have a poem up so far and I don’t have a clue how to get readership haha.

Awesome! Thanks a bunch for your interest and for following! ❤ ❤ ❤ I look forward to seeing you around! 🙂

    1. I really like the look of your blog. Very nice.

I have a concern though. On my computer all of the empty lines between the paragraphs were eliminated and they all run together. I imagine you have tried to fix that and it still collapses but thought I would check. Is that what you see on your computer too? Your introductory post held the paragraphs well.

The personal touch is fantastic. Thank you so much also for taking the time to read my posts.
