Whether you’re finishing Blogging 101 and want to keep working on your blog or you’ve been blogging for a while and want to grow your audience, Blogging 201 can help.
Please note: the content of this edition of Blogging 201: Branding and Growth is the same as the challenge offered earlier this year. If you’re looking for something new to tackle, more Blogging U. courses will roll out this fall and throughout 2015.
If you’ve been taking part in Blogging 101, we’ve reached the end of our journey together. But if you want to keep going — or if you’ve been blogging for a while but need to give your readership a boost —  Blogging 201: Branding and Growth gets going next Monday, October 20.
Two weeks of daily tasks will help you:
- Define your blog’s brand
- Understand your blog’s stats
- Highlight your existing posts
- Build your audience
There’s no requirement or expectation that you write a post every day; Blogging 201 is made up of non-publishing tasks to help you grow your online presence. Weekends are free time to catch up on tasks, write posts of your own, or step away from your blog.
You’re welcome to join whether or not you participated in Blogging 101 — there are no prerequisites at Blogging U. It’s also open to any blogger, whether you blog on WordPress.com, have a self-hosted WordPress site, or use another service entirely.
Fill out this quick form to register! (Note: there’s no automated response to registering, but you’ll receive a welcome email before the challenge kicks off.)

I will be multitasking. Still need to go back over all the missed ones because of my schedule AND my disability at times. I intend to get caught up this week on 101 cuz I have to. I appreciated your post yesterday.
Thanks.

I’ll be multitasking too. I did 101 and 201 with another blog when WP first rolled it out. I’m ready to get this one off the ground.

Will there be a writing 201?

Yes, there are a few of them. The next one will be a course that focuses on long form writing — that starts in December.

Looking forward to completing more of this course than I managed last time. It is running at a better time of year for us gardeners. Is there any easy way bloggers on this course could find each other according to type of blog/interest? It would be a facility really appreciated by all participants.

I’m ready for this. I did writing 101 and that got me started with blogging, but I’m looking forward to continuing with something like this.

I did this once, but it was at the last couple of days that I actually participated. Let’s see what happens when I go all out!

Hi, My sister showed me this and helped me get through most of the assignments for Blogging101…Will I have to complete all of them to go to Blogging201 or may I follow through with what I already have?

Nope, it doesn’t depend on Blogging 101; anyone’s free to join.

I’m still riding on a tricycle If blogging is anything like riding a bike. Furthermore, this is going to be interesting.

I’ve registered again (I did it last week too) BECAUSE I have changed my primary email address back to an old one. I sort of think one should register one’s email address consistent with the data saved that works with one’s blog address (or is this wrong speculation…). In case anyone at Automattic wants to check where to send the instructions, my old email add (which I have recently reinstated) is at: bondgirlannie007@gmail.com

We ask for your email address just so we can send the welcome/instructions before the challenges start. The challenge itself is done on your blog/through your WordPress account, so it doesn’t matter that much what email you register with.

Michelle, thanks for clearing that up because I’m really excited (and I was a bit anxious that I screwed up with the registration thing to be honest) about the topic of branding one’s blog/blogs! đŸ™‚

So, I would click “Take Our Survey” to register? I got a warning when I did that…

You can either delete the “s” from the “https” to stop the warning from triggering, or just use the form embedded right in this post.

I’ve signed up and will participate as much as possible. I’m currently living in Nicaragua training to be a Peace Corps Volunteer with my husband (we have three more weeks of training and begin our service Nov. 7th). Our lives are fairly busy with training and we have sporadic internet connection right now, but I will do as much of this course as I can. We are using our blog as a way to help us meet the Peace Corps’ third goal of sharing our stories and the culture of Nicaragua with Americans back at home. Completing Blogging 201 will help us reach this goal!
Looking forward to working with all of you, giving feedback to your blogs, and getting some help with ours. Take care!
