Blogging U.’s first-ever Writing 101 course just ended yesterday. If you’re already feeling antsy about not receiving your daily assignment fix, here are some resources to keep you engaged and focused on your writing.
Congratulations, Writing 101 bloggers! While we’re still working on our official wrap-up post (stay tuned for it next week!), we couldn’t leave you hanging on the first day after the course’s official end date.
Back in February, Blogging U. Chancellor (or is it Provost?) Michelle came up with some great resources for those bloggers who had just finished an earlier blogging challenge. We share some of those with you again now, in the hope that your transition out of the course is as smooth as possible. You better not stop writing now!
Whether you’re participating in a blogging challenge or not, finding the time to write can be challenging. If you’re feeling pressed for time, “When Life Gets in the Way” might help. If you’ve got the time to write but no words are forthcoming, plagiarizing yourself is always a great idea.
If you want to explore some new post styles, check out our rundowns on the art of the open letter, defining boundaries when writing about family and friends, and humor writing. If your humor runs toward the dark, we’ve also got a piece on the art of snark.
Many bloggers, on WordPress.com and beyond, offer fantastic resources on writing and the craft of blogging. Here are a few of our favorites:
You can find many more recommendations here, along with links to more of our favorite pieces on The Daily Post. And of course, we’ll still be here every day with more advice, support, and inspiration. Give our Daily Prompts a try. Looking for a writing project for the week? Our weekly writing challenges might bring back good memories from Writing 101. And the Community Pool is the best place for free-for-all interaction about writing and blogging, so you’re always welcome there if you want feedback on your latest post.
Last, but certainly not least — stay tuned for our forthcoming announcement of the next Blogging U. course! We’re putting some final touches on it and can’t wait to invite you, once again, to our giant, raucous, virtual seminar room.

I enjoyed the class. One never should stop learning. Learning is like rowing against the stream, once you stop you will fall back. I am looking forward to the next class.

Unfortunately I had to leave the writing 101 around day seven because of personal stuff I didn’t have the time. Ah well, in that time I gained an asstonne of new public so I can’t complain.

I participated as I could, and found the prompts to be a great resource and help, even when I couldn’t follow through as I wished. Plus the links and side helpings of extras you provide are always interesting. Looking forward to the next round, and thank you!

I never get notifications with these challenges, and I thought I can join blogging U at any point of time only to discover that its a timed challenge 😦 I really can’t wait to receive the notification of the promised challenge 🙂

While the challenge itself took place over the month of June, the daily assignments are still available for anyone to read and use as they see fit whenever they want.
As for notifications, as long as you’re an email subscriber of the Daily Post, you should be getting those just like all the other posts we publish.
I hope you join us for the next challenge!

I enjoyed the posts I received. I hand wrote mostly. Look forward to your next challenge now that I better understand how it works.
My blog colors move around. One color is fine. Grey doesn’t work. I’ve been battling with colors. Background white would be fine too. I Have a lot to learn.

Sorry to say I pooped out by the end of the challenge, but loved it because it actually stimulated me and helped me to say a few things depending on the daily challenge. 😉

In total, I responded to 17 of the 20 prompts and it was definitely an interesting journey! I learnt a lot through your tips, my own writing and reading my fellow classmates’ posts. Thank you Daily Post for such an experience. I’m due to give birth any day now so I doubt I’ll be able to take part in your next challenge, but I’ll keep reading.
Cheers!! 🙂

Thank you for having the class. It was a fun experience, challenging and I found a lot of other people in around the same waters as me. I hope to be around next time the class comes up.

I made it through about 60% of the assignments! and while I was disappointed that I couldn’t finish every single one, I know that I got a great deal out of the course. More than that, I found some wonderful folks to follow!
