NaNoWriMo: The End is Just the Beginning | arielkprice

It’s December 1st. Which means that my first NaNoWriMo is over. It’s been an interesting experience.

First of all, my final word count is 15,689. Not nearly the 50,000 it’s supposed to be, but it beats my own personal record by about 14,000 words, so I consider it a HUGE success!

  6. Nice job! I took on a variation of the challenge that I read about on copyblogger.com and wrote a non-fiction work. It was a new endeavor for me, and I am quite happy with the result, too. (My total came out about like yours. 🙂 ) Now I have some final editing to get done in the next few days…

  8. Yep, i thought that it’s very difficult to me for reach 50k words for the first time participating NaNoWriMo this year. So i’m loser this year. Btw, i’m still on the way finish my novel. Congrats all winners!!!

  10. Nice! It was difficult but I pulled over 50,000 words together and can’t wait to do it again next year 🙂 Hope you try it again because it is so amazing to win but it is great that you have a good story going, the hardest part to do (for me) is start! Best of luck in editing everyone!
    I actually put my rough draft online because I was feeling brave… It will be interesting to see how it changes, all the versions will be documented on my project planning blog and then I am going to release .pdf and e-book formats and possibly self publish a few printed copies for friends 😀

  12. It was difficult but i pulled over 1500 words together for my fisrt final draft paper, i can’t wait to hear what my teacher have to say about my work. He is a good teacher he’s very passionate about his work if any students interesting about literature trust me he is the one but his the tauch one.
    do your work it would pay off GOB

  17. A great challenge, and can say I achieved it,got a winners badge, surprising as it was, and made friends with many new people. I will continue to complete the novel I started, but if there is a negative it would be, the next day,1st December every thing was suddenly flat. Although I will as I said continue, the pressure of a clock and the routine of typing up the words, gave everything a meaning or reason to do this. My group at Southampton are going to try and maintain a communication, if this happens then great. Any way saying all this I hope to participate next year as well. Maybe by then my novel will be finished. Keep your eyes open for Knight of the Oak.

  18. mine hit the wall around 4,500 words and shattered into a million grammatical fragments that promptly vanished like water poured on sand..
    so… Yeah :P.
    but i still had fun and will give it another shot

  19. I managed 40,000 words but had too many competing things to do in the last few days. If I’d written a few less blog posts or short stories early in the month I’d probably have made it, but they were a higher priority.
