Topic #321:
Write about the one that got away.
Perhaps it was an idea, a friend, a job or a lover. Describe the moment you knew you lost something you could have had.

In Memoriam
My dad just passed away. He was like an ever-lasting comet, which illuminated our lives for 87 years and vanished suddenly on his long journey to eternity, leaving us with the sweet memories of his bright light.

My heart is with you. My dad left shortly before yours did. Maybe they will become friends in which ever place they now call home.

Bueno realmente nunca he perdido a alguien, pero durante una parte de mi vida conviví con alguien quien estaba en duelo, para mi fue difícil ya que no sabia que decirle para hacerla sentir mejor.

Some time ago the wearing of a seatbelt was about to be made compulsory in the UK. I got a brainwave to market T shirts with a seatbelt design on it. It would be a fun thing while possibly making others think a belt was actually being worn. I did not have the confidence to pursue the venture. Years later I read someone made a fortune with the same idea when the seatbelt law was to be introduced in Italy To this day I still feel the kicks I gave myself..

I did this a few months back, cause I remembered the guy. Yet, it remains as something in the past no longer important.

When you come up with a good idea and someone takes it and makes money from it boy it is hard to talk to anyone after that.

A lover, idea, friend, family member is never really gone. Not if you don’t let them be. Truth is, people live in through memories. Ideas live on through ambition and hope in the future. We’re not at the end yet, we don’t know what’s round the corner. Admitting a loss is the first acceptance of defeat.

I’ll mention two: a beautiful woman who I’ll name DC, who has been happily married for sixteen years now, and a website idea I’d had back in 1998, when I first came online. Not knowing how to go about it, or even what questions to ask in order to learn how to go about it, I just let it pass. Then in 2005 a UK college student named Alex Tew started the Million Dollar Homepage, and I felt like he stole my idea! 😀

Letting things get away is a daily occurrence for me!! I am very forgetful…so I too often have regrets. I am trying to come to terms with this and not worry about the “one that got away.” Other opportunities eventually arise.
