I’ve just started the Post-A-Day challenge in order to prep for my first NaNoWriMo!!! Created a new blog for the Post-A-Day to keep track of everything as I plan on using the daily prompts given here on the Daily Post as well as extra posts I’ll be doing to get basic character, setting, and plot details down and all in one place.

For a second I thought I clicked the wrong url in the browser! hehe. I participated NNWM 2010 for the first time ever and it was an awesome experience to know that I am able to cross the 50k goal. I also participated for Camp NNWM in August and barely eeked over the 50k line. I am definitely participating in NNWM 2011. 🙂

I am thinking about it. I am curious as to what they do with the submitted novels – just verify that they completed 50,000 or something else? Not sure that I will have time to do it though.

The last few days of the month, they set up this little automatic word counter and you just paste your novel in and verify. No one reads your novel nor do they save a copy of it after you verify. It’s just a word counter. Quick and easy.

Another thing: I just wish you didn’t post the daily topics so late… I live in Europe and it was well into the evening here when i finally got my email saying this was posted… I know..I’m impatient. 😀

This will be my second attempt at NaNoWriMo (and there’s a post on my blog site detailing the first, which I guess we’ll call a near miss!)
I’m preparing myself this year by developing the story, fleshing out characters, and planning an outline (something I didn’t do last year). Oh, and seriously upping my caffeine and chocolate intake my month’s end 🙂

Already signed up since August. I’ll just write whatever comes to my mind. Just like what NaNoWriMo said: “the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It’s all about quantity, not quality. This approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.”

This is the first time I’ve come across this and I’m very tempted to participate, but strangely nervous. Need to get my thinking hat on if i plan to do it.

As a writer I have a few novels out on the market. My problem is writing a novel with only 50,000 words. Is the word count etched in stone or can I do a regular full length novel. The last novel I published had 105,000 words and I wrote it in 24 days.
Anyway, I want to say good luck to all the participants. Oh yeah, I was looking at the download rules. I have no clue what the heck the format is supposed to be. Maybe someone will clue me in.

You can write as much as you want and are encouraged to continue after November, but the challenge is to write a NEW novel and get in at LEAST 50,000 words by the end of November. I did it last year. The last 10,000 words were the hardest. I started getting too involved and that slowed down my writing. 🙂

I think I actually will participate. It helps to vent some things inside my head out. Even if it isn’t quality work it will give me the challenge to keep focused and try for the goal of 50 thousand words.

I did NaNoWriMo last year and did some of my best writing ever! It’s so freeing to write without editing or worrying if your work is “good enough.” I don’t know how I’ll find the time, but I plan on NaNoing again this year.

I could have sworn I left a reply to this already. But I’m in. It’ll be my first try and I’m going to write a new genre for me (which is easy since I only have one published short story)! I will be happy to have all the support I can find! And I will be happy to provide support to anyone who wants to write “together” during Google hangouts!
