  1. Whether one believes in something or not does not make it so. There was no such thing as gravity till the guy named it. Row to the end of the ocean and fall off. Put the poor guy in jail because he showed the earth is not the center of the Universe. Who is evil ? Science and knowledge was evil. Evolution was evil . So, I wonder what this debate is all about? Agnostics ? The presence of god ? Or the intellectual examination of the word evil ?

  2. I think I get it now. Essentially, evil belongs to the category of religion. No word of evil, no god brought up, no angels, no lucifers, no red lighted up in some part of the brain. So ok. Since I am not interested in talking religion, I shall not enter into any discussions about evil unless I want to pick an argument. No wonder they say in discussion or conversation, no politics, no religion and what was the other one ? One more…hmm. *Wised up*. Thanks for the education !

  3. Human tend to compare,we always need the opposite. if there wasen’t evil how would we know what is good? But what is good or evil? it can only be evaluated from our point of view, for jews Hitler was evil for Germans a hero, it depends of the situation and the point of view, the truth is there is no evil or good there are just point of views we give, and there must be a way of explaining it, thats why probably we created dividing lines between things, people and situations.

  4. I believe the Bible has the answers. Evil is the result of selfish decisions. As this question is very similar to one we had not so very long ago, I will share a relevant link to a past post. If your mind is not settled on this question, I offer this for your consideration. 🙂

  5. Because ppl want to be that way. Most ppl choose to do wrong and think they can get away with it. They always want something they can’t have or just want to be more powerful or more mad then the next person. They all have their trigger points and what makes them tick

  6. I believe that evil is a necessary balance to good. Chinese tradition tell us of yin and yang – two opposites – which if we can embrace both, leads to the tao – a resolution. If we dismiss evil, or pretend that it doesn’t exist, then we invite evil to redouble itself. Life is not one sided, in my view, and if we can embrace opposites – good/evil, love/hate, rich/poor – as entities that exist at least in equal measure, then can do something about them in our own personal lives. Carl Jung called this the transcendent function. I always look at the opposite when I consider anything.

  7. Here’s mine: Evil happens because some humans – mortals – take it on themselves to judge what is right or wrong. Eventually, they will be wrong. Who am I to judge another human being’s actions?

  8. Wouldn’t it be fair to say that anyone involved in sales is evil? Think about it. Trying to sell something to someone when you know they don’t need it, just for your own personal financial gain. I would say yes. I would argue that selfishness would be the leading cause for the slow, yet inevitable downfall of humanity.

  9. evil is based on the point of view of others. the church considered gays “evil” when, quite frankly, homosexuals were just finding their true loves. if the church, who technically made the word ‘evil’ consider something to be ‘evil’ will you believe it? it depends on your perspective. some people might not see that the world contains evil but just confused people thinking that what they are doing is good. and who are we to judge?
