  1. I’ve just realised that I’m technically posting a day behind – I started with topic 1 (the countries post) being my post for the 1st of Jan, and then topic 2 as today’s post. Being in England the timing of the topics being posted is almost a little too late (much more of a morning person) so I’d already written today’s topic 2 post before I saw topic 3 posted.

I hope this doesn’t take me out of PostaDay eligibility! 😉

    1. Not a problem – it’s all good, you’re doing just fine. I thought I should try to start on Dec 31st so people could have more time to get started.

There is no obligation to use our topics. Nor do you have to do them in the same order we do. Have fun, modify it how you like to make it work for you.

      1. You’re in! Don’t worry about details like this. Posting with the right tags is the most important thing.

    3. I always feel like I’m a day behind too cos the next day’s topic is usually posted the night before ( my time ), but as long as I get my post in every day I’m a happy bunny. The fact I then get to mull on it overnight is just an added bonus 😀 Good luck!

  2. Okay, I’m old and getting more and more demented by the day. So help me. I have posted each day, but apparently am not tagging properly to have my posts show up here. I have seen at least three different suggestions for tagging. Which one gets to the challenge. I like it, my Facebook friends like it, but not seeing my posts here is frustrating. A geeky grandmother.

    1. Hi Robert: Check to see if you have the tags on your post set correctly. That’s probably the issue.

  3. Hi,
Think it’s a great idea to view and comment on other participating blogs. Great to see how others are tackling this challenge! Twitter is another idea to promote a new post. How many people are on Twitter?

    1. Hi Patti: Yes, for now we can only track blogs on wordpress.com. But you should tag your posts anyway – it’s possible we’ll be able to list posts elsewhere on the web that use our tags.

  4. WordPress – look at what you have done – inspired so many to write who might not otherwise have done.
Just looking at the sheer numbers who have responded to your idea.
    Awesome, simply awesome.

  5. I am in with my blog mvgonzo.wordpress.com. However, I already posted today and don’t want to post that I am joining as I don’t want it to draw away from my original post…is that ok?

    1. Not a problem. That intro post was just another way to help people get started, let your readers know, and possibly invite them to partake too. You can skip it if you like.

  6. First off, thanks for the encouragement and for listing all the participants! Initially, I couldn’t find my blog and was going to whinge about it 🙂 but found it somewhere in there…. It’s an impressive, long list and I’d love to like everyone.
I’d have to visit in spurts and support my fellow bloggers as the current format is incredibly long. Is there any chance of grouping the blogs by categories or showcasing us in smaller groupings? It would make it easier to stop by and say cheers! 🙂
Just my two pence, cents, kobos, shekels… you get my drift 🙂
    Happy blogging!

PS. Is the correct tag postaday, postaday2011 or PostAday#2011? Thanks Scott!

    1. postaday2011 and postaweek2011 are the right tags – sorry for the confusion.

We’ll see about a better way to find categories posts within the challenge participants.

  7. Before I heard about PostADay, I had decided to begin a blog called One Challenge A Day. Since this too requires posting everyday, I figured I would accept the PostADay challenge.

Everyday I will pose a challenge to both myself and my readers–something that I hope will make us grow as writers, as comics, as friends, as professionals, and mostly as people. This is an attempt to allow life to push me or pull me where ever it pleases while always remembering about the importance, the opportunity, the inspiration that each day has the potential to bring.

If you are looking for a little inspiration for your blog or for your life, feel free to check mine out.

  8. I’ve just had a look at the list and couldn’t spot my name, can I check that I’m still in the challenge? Just a little worried as I get the topic email a day before the challenge day.
    Thanks!

  10. Actually, in the terms of inspiration and reading other blogs, I was thinking, that what would be extremely useful in browsing other blogs, is some advanced search feature, where you could choose tags you want in your query and the ones you don’t (several at a time, for example posts that have tags both “postaday2011” AND “recipe”). I mean, it’s hard to find posts that you’re particularly interested in without having to scroll through hundreds of posts you don’t want to read or have no time to read. Am I making any sense here? 😉

  11. Perhaps there could be a Post a Day blogroll and a Post a Week blogroll listed on this site in addition to the tags? Of course, it would make for a loooong list! 🙂

  12. One cool way to follow along is to subscribe to the tag apostaday2011 or apostaweek2011 and view the stream in the Dashboard’s Tag Surfer section. That way you can get a better birds eye view than just the title and one line you only see in the tag pages.

    1. Follygirl: if your post doesn’t show, make sure you have used the correct tag (postaday2011 or postaweek2011).

      1. Yes, I’ve used the correct tag postaday2011 … or I did something wrong?
Thank you for your quick response!

      2. Hi Follygirl: The URL I showed lists only blogs on wordpress.com – if you have your own blog on a different server, it won’t show up in the list.

We may be able to list other blogs on the web that use the right tags in the future, so keep tagging.

  14. Hi! I’ve happily taken up the postaweek (at least) challenge but my post does not appear in the list, even though i put the correct tag: is it a matter of language? I blog mainly in Italian and English (by popular demand!), let me know how I could make my contribution to inspire other writers! Should I change the “blog language” on my dashboard from Italian to English (not the language of the posts, though). I really think it is a great idea to invite us to read each other and share inspiration, and it would be even better if we could do it in many languages!

    Thanks, G.

  15. Hi. This comment section is great! My post of an hour ago (tag–postaday2011 — title–Hermann Hesse) did not appear. I think I’m having the same problem as Follygirl above. Perhaps my blog is set to private by accident because I have never found it under any of the tags I have used. Like Follygirl, I’m not too good at this. I would appreciate any help you could provide or suggest. Thanks.

  16. Hi there! 🙂
I was wondering, are tags case-sensitive…. because I’ve been posting under postaday2011, not PostAday2011. Is that a problem?
    Thanks in advance.

By the way, I love the idea. Keep up the good work ;))

  17. Hi Scott! I love the WordPress challenge! I’d love it if you could help me!
I cannot figure out how to create a link, even to my own older posts (how lame is that?) sheeze! And, I really wanted to import a cute lady bug picture into my blog from a free stock picture site and could not figure out how to do it….I’ve gone to the forums etc and get frustrated wading through info that I am not looking for, and end up never figuring it out….I posted anyway though I really wanted it to look better. It can’t be that difficult, I just need a couple of step by step directions.
    Oh help!
    technically yours,
    Liz

    1. Liz,
You have to save the picture to your computer first then you can upload it.
If you’re older posts are still there you should be able to just copy the url and then link it to the text in your blog.

      Hope this helps.
Good luck with the challenge and Happy New Year!!
