Today! This week’s theme is a bit different (but you like that, don’t you?) – it’s about TODAY. This day. The day you’re reading and reacting to this post. No rules or guidance on what to post other than the photo must be taken today! Don’t cheat, don’t go into your photo archives on your computer, don’t link to an old post. Get your camera out, right now, and snap a picture to share with everyone!

As for my picture, taken TODAY – the Pope is coming to visit my city this weekend and furious “beautification” efforts are happening. I snapped this picture this morning to show the progress of these flowers being planted – they were going fast! I’m sure later this afternoon they’ll have finished, and I’m glad to be able to benefit from more flowers in my neighborhood. It’s not a great picture, but it is a slice my “today.”

Share a picture from TODAY with everyone!

New to The Daily Post? Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.

2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.

3. Subscribe to The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS

  1. I love that where you are your town gets ready and tries to make everything perfect for the Pope to come. It brought me a little of a nostalgic feeling, of when kings and queens would visit villages.
