  1. I need someone to look at my overall blog; I want it to be about me and teaching and some things in which I’m interested, but I worry that my writing style and post types aren’t consistent. Any input is appreciated!

      1. Yes just what we need more people interfering in they way we write, spells, speak. Language changes, evolves even more now with the internet, diffrent cultures mixing styles of writing, speaking, introduction of slang in music use in mobile/cell phones.
I will write how I wish, I am 50 years old I am not going to change even if I wanted to. Over the years I have written lengthly evaluation reports on children for Social Services, Medical Profession and Educational Services using very big words, many in a paragraph. Maybe the grammar wasn’t great but they stopped a child being put back with violent parents, had children seen by child psychologists. Not once did any of these professionals said ‘Hey your grammar is crap’ so if none of my highly educated peers didn’t complain, I certainly won’t listen to complete strangers in the middle of a virtual world. Using the word Nazi in this context or any is an insult to all the millions who died under Nazi rule. Thank you.

      2. Every non grammar nazi needs a grammar nazi! Come come check out my blog and comment with grammar corrections! lovedontknowwhatdistanceis.wordpress.com

    1. Design-wise, I think it might be better without the left-hand column of round thinggies: they don’t do much more than make it hard to read the text over ‘em. And personally I find that the column is too ‘busy’, as they say.
Content-wise, I think you should never apologise for anything in your blog – especially about swearing. If you want to swear, do, and like-minded readers won’t worry about it; those who are offended will not be mollified by your apologising.
And anyway: your subject matter will’ve scared ‘em off long since! [grin]

    1. you need an about page, or if you do have one I’d suggest putting it in the black bar at the top of your blog. About pages are the first or second things I look at on any website blog or not.

      1. Maybe a page about your mission statement with links to those other about pages? Your home page has an error message that says page not found so when I initially look at you website I don’t know what it’s about.

  2. Hey all! I’ve posted here before about helping think of a blog name, and I’m back. I think I’ve better found my niche. I thought I would write strictly about pop culture, but it’s really evolved into a personal blog. Does anyone have any name ideas looking at my posts?

  3. In the last few days I have reached 3000+ views in total across all my posts. I’d like to thank everyone who has stopped by my blog in the last 2 months. I’m really enjoying it and always appreciate any feedback.

    THANK YOU!

    1. I love your about page its really informative and gives me fantastic context for blog posts. I enjoy the creative writing posts a lot. The only thing I’d change is your home page. Maybe this is a personal preference but I like it when I can read a few lines of a post before I click to read the whole thing. I’m a young bloger too I’d really like your opinion on my blog the url is lovedontknowwhatdistanceis.wordpress.com

      1. Well, if you want people to really concentrate on your writing (I see you incorporate a lot of images in your posts) then maybe you should consider another layout? Like you said, the images draw you in. Whatever makes you happy!

    2. I really like your blog! If you’re looking for a theme that shows a nice photo plus a snippet of text there’s always Expound, Untitled, Visual, Suburbia, or The Columnist. They all look pretty great when setup properly!

  4. Not sure if I can pita this on here but I’m considering moving to a self hosted site. I intend to pay and use the guided transfer so I don’t lose followers or stats and so I don’t mess up and lose posts.
Now my problem is that I have my own domain at WP.com. I have searched forums and guidance pages both on manually going self hosted and using guidesd transfer and cannot find an answer so please don’t direct me to one of those pages.
How do I transfer my own domain to another host? Probably bluehost. I have read I need some sort of code.
When I transfer the domain what happens to my wordpress account? Will it revert back to http://bizzimummy.wordpress.com whilst waiting for guided transfer to transfer wordpress?
Or can the guided transfer people transfer my domain for me plus all my wordpress account?
    Confused and advice appreciated

    1. I think in this post it’s just the right balance. And even if it were longer – it’s just so funny, you keep asking yourself what this is all about and where it’s going to end – I would have read until the end!

  5. Just started following your blog and I find it interesting. As I spread my wings through the entire social media, I have enjoyed a lot of blog post especially interviews of authors and their characters. I have a blog Lightning Chronicles if anyone cares to visit at http://booksbyagmoye and comment on. A.G.

  6. I think my blog is visually appealing, but not sure why I’m not getting so many followers. Is it just because it’s a book review blog and there are so many blogs of that type in cyberspace? Just started the blog Nov. 1.

  7. Hey! I have recently started my blog, so I would really like some feedback and constructive criticism from all of you out there! I have blogged about Dan Brown’s new book Inferno and overpopulation, homosexuality, lucid dreaming and a few of my own clicks. I would suggestions about improving my layout. Thanks in advance!

      1. Thanks ;) Checked you out, too. Awesome drawings! Really original and funny :D Couldn’t read much for now. Work and stuff :) Will definitely take a closer look later.

  8. I was hoping somebody could give my blog a look and suggest the best way for me to include my other contact details? E.g. Twitter, YouTube and my workout journal on another website, I understand there are widgets for twitter which i have, and some ones made by other people for YouTube, but I dont know how to include these? How do people suggest I post these links so others see them regularly? :) Thanks! Sam

  9. I started a blog few weeks ago. I haven’t started the second post yet. But if someone could read my blog and provide suggestions on page design, content and structure it would surely help me.

    1. I think you have a good blog concept and your first post is structured well. Although the content doesn’t match your name – Mumbai to Manhattan. I’d suggest starting something on that topic! You’ve picked a good theme to highlight your content but I would also suggest changing the background to a nice photo that matches your topic. :)

  10. I’ve just started my first ever blog!!! I’m using it as an outlet for me so I can start to deal with issues. I also want to use it as an outlet to help others whom are going through the sane!! Any suggestions how I can get it out there would be greatly appreciated. Facebook and Twitter is not an option for me. It’s called depression, my mum and me!! http://finallystrongenoughtoforgive.wordpress.com/

    1. That’s an excellent reason to start blogging! I suggest making an about page so that anyone who does stop by gets an idea of who you are and what the blog is about.

  11. I have only written one blog as I am just starting, any feedback on what I have done would be appreciated. Just need to get a feel for whether I should still bother writing a blog, thanks.

    1. Bran, I think it wouldn’t hurt to add some pictures to your post about the gaming consoles. Other than that, I know I would love to see your about page filled out!

  12. How do I get people to look at my blog? I have just started (so pardon me for the sate of it right now), so I don’t know how to get followers/readers?

  13. I adore my blog..but feedback is greatly needed! How is the writing? The blog is a little eclectic..but I hope it’s something people can relate to.

  14. Hey guys and girls. Please checkout my very first blog, its: cfjourney14.wordprees.com.

Im blogging about my daily workouts, progression and how I prepare myself for a Crossfit competition. Im especially interested in how the design and writing works.

    Thanks in advance !

  15. I am new to wordpress, and I would like if viewers could check out my blog it’s short stories for teens but anyone could read.

  16. I’m done with my first week of blogging and i have three things to say, is it bad that my about page is the same as my intro post, i feel like my posts are far too short, and I’m having trouble generating traffic as a sports blogger…

  17. Well, not too many people read my blog, so what am I doing wrong , lol besides expressing my opinion? It is here at theyoushowblog.wordpress.com

THANK you for any comments, help with this matter.

  18. I just started a couple weeks ago and have hit a little slump it gaining readers and followers. I really want to get my blog out there to hopefully help and inspire more people on the subject. If anyone could take a look and tell me what you think of the blog…

Also, I’d like some input on my last two posts “Happy Birthday Dear Jarhead..Here’s a Nightmare for You” and “A Man’s Best Friend” !

    My blog is at http://www.jq1317.wordpress.com

I am also looking for some more good blogs to follow and would be more than willing to read and provide any input on others as well

    Thanks!

    1. Hi! I really enjoyed reading through your blog as I found it very engaging and personable. =) I like how to talk about TBI as a serious condition as it truly is, along with PTSD. I look forward to reading more from you! <3
      Christina

    2. Hi. Your posts are clean and that’s what I love about it — not too much unnecessary photos. However, your posts are incredibly long and this is perhaps the reason why you aren’t getting enough readers that you duly deserve. You might want to shorten the posts but retain the content. Alternatively, you can participate in Weekly Writing Challenges/ Weekly Photo Challenges prompted by The Daily Post. Just remember to put a pingback and I’m sure you will have a load of readers (and maybe followers too)! I wish you good luck! You can do it! :)

      1. So can I just post the link to the daily prompt in my post and it will pingback? Not sure how to hyperlink it into a word or sentence..man I am more technologically challenged challengers I thought ha!

  19. Greetings everyone! I am new in writing short stories and flash fictions so I will be honored to hear and receive constructive critcisms, comments and feedbacks from you. Your words will truly be appreciated as those will guide and help me throughout my writing career (also, it depends on the advice.)

Thank you very much, in advance and I hope to engage with you, fellow bloggers, anytime soon! God Bless you all.

    1. Hi. I have always fancied short stories and am an occasional short story writer myself too. I especially like “The Memory of Clara”. The way you delineate Clara’s emotions is vividly written. The structure of the entire plot is easy to follow — not too messy. I have here a short story that I would love to share with you. Do leave your comments :) thank you.

    1. Hi there! I really enjoyed reading your blog. =) The quality of your posts is top notch, I would just indent more between sentences to visually be easier to read. I hope this helps!!

  20. I literally just started my blog a few days ago. It’s in the VERY early stages. Just wondering if anyone even thinks people would be interested in reading about a life in retail?

    1. Hi Minnie! I think that would be a great blog to read about, especially since we’re going into the holiday season. I grew up working in retail so I would enjoy reading another experience! =)

      1. Yay! Glad to hear. I got my first follower today so I’m hoping at least a few people find it interesting!

  21. Hi I’m kind of going through an identity crisis. Not with content, but with the design. I’ve recently changed my ltheme and background no less than half a dozen times over the past couple of weeks. I would appreciate a bit of feedback. Thanks in advance.

    1. I think you’ve chosen a good theme! Although the font is sort of difficult to read on my monitor (might just be me though). I think your header with the pen is a good thematic touch, in addition to the ink spill of the background.

    2. I agree with Anna, I love the theme. For me, it is easy to read the header though! After reading your about page and comparing your background image – I’m not sure what the relationship is? But it does make it look very stylized. I know this may or may not be your preference, but you could try having no background. I did it and I’ve kept it that way ever since, lol!

    1. Hi Sebastian! I really like the layout of your blog because it makes it easier to see all of your beautiful photography with little effort. That’s a good thing! =) I’m excited to see more beautiful photographs in my reader! <3
      Christina

      1. Wow, thank you so much for your comments! Really glad you like my blog & photography! I hope to improve as time goes on and build it up more and more! Thanks again :)!

    2. You’ve chosen a good theme to highlight your photos! Personally I feel that photos pop more on a white background, but I’m biased because a) I love white and b) my blog’s layout is white. Your photos are beautiful by the way.

      1. Hi! Yeah, I did play around with lighter / different coloured backgrounds… & after asking a good few people, more or less all preferred the darker one. Thanks very much for the feedback & the positive comment about my photography. It’s something I really enjoy doing! :D

  22. With all the natural disasters ravaging our countries, I just wish to reach non-technical homeowners or would-be home owners to consider a proper house design. We’ve all been concerned at the cost (which is normal) but I wish that we’ll be much concerned with the safety of our families inside our homes. How I wish I would have explained it in a better way, but I did my best to write it.
