Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused

Unfocused. You may curse or cheer this week’s theme. We’re looking for that picture which is unfocused. It may be completely intentional, or accidental. You might have thought about trashing it, but in the end it definitely conveys something.

This picture above is from a run I did one morning while visiting Dijon, France. I never slowed down enough to get a clear photo, but I’ll remember the empty streets of Dijon and my solo run in any case!

Share a picture that is UNFOCUSED with everyone!

New to The Daily Post? Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, you’re invited to get involved in our Weekly Photo Challenge to help you meet your blogging goals and give you another way to take part in Post a Day / Post a Week. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if your blog isn’t about photography.

Here’s how it works:

1. Each week, we’ll provide a theme for creative inspiration. You take photographs based on your interpretation of the theme, and post them on your blog anytime before the following Friday when the next photo theme will be announced.

2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Weekly Photo Challenge: (theme of the week)” and be sure to use the “postaday″ tag.

3. Subscribe to The Daily Post so that you don’t miss out on weekly challenge announcements. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS

  2. Unfocused or Controlling Depth of Field?

Depth of field means how much of the image is in or out of focus. Learning how to control it plays a big part in planning your image composition. Come learn and see some sample images of how to use your camera for the unfocused challenge.

  28. This is unusual for me to post twice regarding the weekly photo challenge.

I wanted to provide folks with an idea to achieve the “unfocused” look for this week’s Word Press Photo Challenge. You need a zoom lens for this one. This takes some practice, but the results are worth it! It is called: “Zooming Effect during Exposure.” If you like the results, publish your image.
